Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) Visits ESDO’s Climate Action Interventions in Satkhira

On July 7, 2025, Henchoz Pignani Corinne, Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Cooperation at the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh, visited the ESDO–EdM implemented CALL (Climate Action at Local Level) project titled “Reducing Climate-Change-Induced Health Hazards of Pregnant Women, Children, and Adolescent Girls (REACH)” in Assasuni, Satkhira.
She was accompanied by Shameema Akhter Shimul, Regional Coordinator, EdM Bangladesh, and Farhana Afroz, Program Director, CALL PMU with the related team member.
The delegation observed several key interventions addressing climate-induced health risks, including:
* Eco-Friendly Mobile Ambulance – Ensuring timely healthcare in remote areas
* Renovated Community Clinic – Strengthening local health infrastructure
* Health Education Session – Raising awareness on mental health and climate-related health hazards
The visit highlighted the project’s commitment to building climate-resilient communities and promoting inclusive healthcare in costal belt area of Bangladesh.
