Muslim Aid UK Fundraising Team Visits Kurigram: Supporting Food, Water, and Education Initiatives
A delegation from Muslim Aid UK’s Fundraising Team, led by Mr. Yusuf Kalam, Ms. Zareen Qaiser Firdous, Mr. Martin Frederick Ball, and accompanied by Mr. Shah Oliullah, Mr. Moin Uddin and Mr. Al Amin, visited Kurigram district on 8–9 November 2025 to document and observe Muslim Aid’s humanitarian and development programmes in northern Bangladesh.
The two-day field visit showcased Muslim Aid’s integrated support for food security, clean water access, and education, implemented with the ESDO–CBM field team and local partners.
The team began with a Truck Food Distribution Programme, delivering Ramadan and emergency food packs to widows, orphans, and women-headed households in the Nondo Dulaler Vita School area. Beneficiaries shared their gratitude during on-camera interviews, while a community iftar brought together villagers, women, and children in an atmosphere of unity and faith.
The next day, the delegation visited a newly installed water well and hand pump in a mosque yard, where residents now collect safe drinking water. Interviews with beneficiaries and teachers highlighted the positive impact on health, hygiene, and school attendance.
At nearby schools, the team observed education initiatives including child-friendly classrooms, lightning protection systems, classroom renovation, school field raising, and tree plantation activities. A case study was recorded to showcase the transformation of the learning environment.
“What we have witnessed here is the true spirit of compassion and service,” said Ms. Zareen Qaiser Firdous. “The smiles of the children and the gratitude of families remind us why our work matters—to serve humanity and build hope where it’s needed most.”
The visit reaffirmed Muslim Aid UK’s commitment to empowering vulnerable communities in Bangladesh through food, water, and education initiatives that promote dignity and sustainable development.
