
The International Day of Clean Energy
The International Day of Clean Energy on 26 January was declared by the General Assembly (resolution A/77/327) under UN as a call to raise awareness and mobilize actions for a just and inclusive transition to clean energy for the benefit of people and the planet. From 2024 each year the day is observed worldwide.
Kurigram district observed the day by the initiative of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) today. ESDO-HELVETAS joint collaboration project ‘Actions to Climate Change Ensuring Sustainable Solutions (ACCESS)’ participated in the human chain event today infront of Kurigram Press Club. The different NGOs workers, Social Elites, Upazila Climate Council and District Climate Council representatives and road users participated in the event. TIB announced a theme writeup in the event.
The organizing authority has provided an opportunity to ESDO-ACCESS Project Operation Manager Golam Faruk for providing speeches on the day with others. He said the clean energy actions are directly involved with climate change actions. Everybody needs to gather knowledge about clean energy and apply it accordingly if we want to save our country as well as the world.
