A New Era in Higher Education: Eco College Launches B.Ed., B.P.Ed., BBA & CSE Programs

Auspicious beginning of a new educational journey at Eco College
On July 24, 2026, the official inauguration of the National University-approved B.Ed., B.P.Ed., BBA and CSE (Professional and Honors) courses and the inauguration of the digital smart classroom were held in a colorful and grand ceremony at the Eco Pathshala and college premises.
The Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the National University, Professor Dr. A. S. M. Amanullah, was present as the chief guest of the ceremony and announced the inauguration. He was welcomed with floral greetings by the college authorities and the student representative BNCC team and provided a formal guard of honor.
As part of the ceremony, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor participated in a tree plantation program on the college premises, distributed tree saplings among the B.Ed. and B.P.Ed. students and inaugurated the modern technology-based digital smart classroom.
Later, in the inaugural session held at the Joynal Abedin Auditorium, he formally inaugurated the National University-approved B.Ed., B.P.Ed., BBA and CSE (Professional and Honors) courses through digital means.
At the event, Eco Pathshala and College Principal Dr. Selima Akhtar Madam delivered the welcome speech and the college representative presented a PowerPoint presentation titled “Eco College: Achievements, Potential and Future”. In addition, Eco College Governing Body Chairman and ESDO Founder and Executive Director Dr. Muhammad Shahid Uz Zaman Sir presented his visionary speech on future innovative courses, educational expansion and modern education plans.
Thakurgaon University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Israfil Shaheen Sir were present as special guests at the event; Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Director and Thakurgaon District BNP President Mr. Mirza Faisal Amin Sir, and Eco College Governing Body Chairman and ESDO Founder and Executive Director Dr. Muhammad Shahid Uz Zaman Sir.
At the event, Honorable Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A. S. M. Amanullah Sir delivered a guiding speech on improving the quality of higher education, technology-based education and building skilled human resources. Later, the college authorities presented mementos to the invited guests.
The event, held in an inspiring, participatory and professional atmosphere, was presided over by Eco Pathshala and College Principal Dr. Selima Akhtar Madam.
This day-long historical event ended with a fascinating cultural program.

Thakurgaon District Volleyball Tournament-2026 Final Game and Closing Ceremony Held

Dr. Muhammad Shahid Uz Zaman, Founder and Executive Director, ESDO, was present as the chief guest at the final game and closing ceremony of Thakurgaon District Volleyball Tournament-2026.
Md. Faruk, former volleyball player, was present as the special guest. Md. Masud Rana, Convener, Thakurgaon District Volleyball Tournament-2026 presided over the program.
The program was organized by Messrs. Gardenia.
Speaking as the chief guest, Dr. Muhammad Shahid Uz Zaman said that badminton tournaments will be organized regularly again in Thakurgaon district. In addition, initiatives will be taken to organize separate tournaments for boys and girls. He also said that Eco Sports has been launched, where players will be given opportunities to participate at the national level through training.
He called for organizing Thakurgaon District Volleyball Tournament on a regular basis and urged everyone to work together for the physical and mental development of the youth through sports.

ESDO Microfinance Program on the path to digital transformation.
Today, 24 July 2026, a two-day training on “Digital Literacy and Transformative” for branch managers of ESDO Microfinance Program has started simultaneously. The training program is being conducted at Eco Training and Resort Center, Thakurgaon; Eco Mahananda Cottage, Tetulia; Silver Jubilee Bhaban, Rangpur; and Jaleshwari Precinct, Kurigram.
The training was inaugurated by ESDO Founder and Executive Director Dr. Muhammad Shahid Uz Zaman.
Organized with the aim of ensuring institutional capacity and effective leadership in a technology-driven changing world, this training is emphasizing on digital literacy, artificial intelligence (AI) and transformative leadership. These topics will play an important role in making branch level management more efficient, information-based, innovative and technology-enabled.
ESDO firmly believes that digital capabilities, skilled human resources, and visionary leadership are the foundation of a sustainable and modern organization. To achieve this goal, the organization is continuously organizing quality and timely training to develop the knowledge, skills, and leadership of its employees.

UNICEF Bangladesh Country Representative visits ESDO Barisal Office
Today, UNICEF Bangladesh Country Representative Ms. Gillian Mellsop and other senior UNICEF officials visited ESDO’s Barisal Eco Center for Skills Development. They were accompanied by Antonio Franco Garcia, Chief Field Services, Qausar Hossain, Chief Field Office (CFO) and Mostofa Kamal, Education Officer.
During the visit, the delegation observed the training activities of Sewing Machine Operation (SMO) and Computer Operation trades conducted under the Alternative Learning Programme (ALP) implemented by ESDO in collaboration with UNICEF. During this visit, they had a cordial exchange of views with the trainees and learned about their experiences, learning progress and future plans.
The delegation highly appreciated the various activities of the project, innovative training models and the initiative to make disadvantaged, school dropout girls and women, especially, employable and self-reliant through skill development. They expressed satisfaction with the various innovative models implemented by the joint initiative of ESDO and UNICEF and emphasized the need to maintain the continuity of such activities.
Shahriar Mahmud, Head of TIVET, Manik Mia, Assistant Program Manager; and other officials and staff of the Barisal team were present from ESDO during the visit.
ESDO believes that through this partnership with UNICEF, it will be possible to ensure skill development, employment and sustainable livelihood of more disadvantaged girls and women.

ESDO ICT and Digital Support Units Initial Planning Meeting Held

Today, on 18 July 2026, the initial planning meeting of ICT, Software Development, Online Monitoring, Vehicles and Logistics, Branding and Communication, Graphics Design, Documentation and Social Media Units was successfully held at the Seminar Hall Room of ESDO Head Office, Gobindanagar, Thakurgaon.
The meeting was presided over by ESDO Founder and Executive Director Dr. Muhammad Shahid Uz Zaman Sir. Director (Administration) and Principal of Eco Pathshala and College Dr. Selima Akhtar Madam and Team Leader, Youth Engagement and ICT and Managing Director, ESDF Mr. Shaswat Zaman were present as special guests.
In the meeting, Mr. Shaswat Zaman gave a detailed presentation on the current activities, achievements, challenges and future strategic plans of the ICT, Software Development, Online Monitoring, Vehicles and Logistics, Branding and Communication, Graphics Design, Documentation and Social Media units. The presentation highlighted various aspects of digital transformation, expansion of technology-based services, inter-unit coordination, innovative initiatives and quality improvement of activities.
The distinguished guests present at the meeting gave guiding speeches and provided important suggestions to make the future activities more dynamic, technology-based and fruitful. The participants participated in a constructive exchange of views on the plans, priorities and future work plans of their respective units.
This planning meeting will be considered an important milestone in enhancing the digital capabilities of ESDO, strengthening integrated management and achieving excellence in technology-based services.

Today, on 18 July 2026, the Annual Review and Planning Workshop for the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 of Eco Pathshala & College, Eco Institute of Engineering and Technology (EIET), Eco Institute of Agriculture (EIA), Eco Nursing College and Eco Sports Academy under Eco Education Hub was successfully held at the Joynal Abedin Auditorium, ESDO Head Office, Gobindanagar, Thakurgaon.
The workshop, held in an inspiring, participatory and professional atmosphere, was presided over by the Founder and Executive Director of ESDO, Mr. Dr. Muhammad Shahid Uz Zaman Sir. Director (Administration) and Principal of Eco Pathshala and College, Dr. Selima Akhtar Madam and Team Leader, Youth Engagement and ICT and Managing Director, ESDF, Mr. Shaswat Zaman.
The workshop discussed in detail various issues related to the strategic plan for the fiscal year 2026-2027, setting goals, improving the quality of educational programs and managing the institutions in a more modern, effective and sustainable manner. The principals, concerned officers, teachers and employees of all the institutions included in the Eco Education Hub actively participated and presented various constructive opinions and plans to make future activities more fruitful and timely.
At this time, Mr. Dr. Muhammad Shahid Uz Zaman Sir provided important directions for implementing the work plan for the fiscal year 2026-2027, setting strategic priorities and making the educational programs of the Eco Education Hub more dynamic, quality and sustainable. Today, on 16 July 2026, the Microfinance Program Learning and Sharing Meeting was held at the seminar room of the head office of Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO).
The meeting was attended by the Assistant General Manager of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) Mr. Md. Mofazzal Karim as the chief guest. Also present were the Founder and Executive Director of ESDO Mr. Dr. Muhammad Shahid Uz Zaman Sir, Finance Controller and Head of Compliance Mr. Zillur Rahman, Head of Finance Mr. Syed Ali, Head of Microfinance Mr. Md. Mahabubul Haque, Head of Training, Head of MIS, Head of Audit, various Regional Managers, Zonal Managers and concerned officials.
In the meeting, Mr. Md. Mofazzal Karim, Assistant General Manager of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), presented important observations and guidance on the overall activities of the microfinance program, field-level implementation, quality of service, risk management and future development strategies.
In addition, a fruitful discussion was held in the meeting on the ongoing activities, achievements, challenges and future work plans of the microfinance program. The participants exchanged their experiences and learnings, which will play an important role in improving the quality of the program, increasing efficiency and ensuring effective services.

Best NGO in Asashuni

ESDO Honored as Best NGO in Asashuni for Advancing Climate-Resilient Maternal and Child Healthcare

ESDO has been selected as the best NGO in Asashuni Upazila in recognition of its unique contribution to mitigating climate-related risks to maternal and child health. In recognition of its outstanding contribution to mitigating climate change-related risks to maternal and child health in Asashuni Upazila of Satkhira district, ESDO has been awarded as the best NGO.
ESDO has been playing a significant role in enhancing public health, climate resilience and community capacity in Asashuni Upazila for a long time under the CALL Program and REACH Project funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and EDM.
Notable activities under the project include—
Provision of 3 fully solar-powered mobile ambulances.
Renovation of 9 community clinics.
Renovation of 2 Union Health and Family Welfare Centers.
Establishment of Operation Theatre (OT) rooms and provision of about 40 types of surgical equipment.
Provision of necessary training and equipment to health department officials and staff.
Providing training to about 1,500 young men and women in pedagogical methods and developing them as volunteers.
Providing necessary medical equipment including ECG machines in the Upazila Health Complex.
Ensuring availability of safe water for patients and their caregivers.
Installation of 6 Pond Sand Filters (PSF), 6 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants and 2 safe water ponds.
Formulation of 11 training manuals on climate and health, which were previously absent at the government level. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with the concerned ministry to disseminate these manuals at the national level.
Playing a leading role in conducting a massive public awareness campaign to prevent and combat measles.
This multifaceted initiative of ESDO has made a significant contribution to making the health system of Asashuni Upazila more climate tolerant, modern and people-oriented. In recognition of this outstanding work, the organization has been honored as the best NGO!

On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day 2026, ESDO Founder and Executive Director Dr. Muhammad Shahid Uz Zaman participated in the special talk show “Youth Skills Development and Employment” jointly organized by PKSF and Channel i.
PKSF Deputy Managing Director Md. Moshiar Rahman, Channel i Managing Director Faridur Reza Sagar and prominent representatives of government, private and development organizations were also present at the event.
The discussion resulted in a fruitful exchange of views on youth skills development, employment generation, entrepreneurship development and the important role of youth in the sustainable development of the country.

ESDO Honored as Best NGO at Upazila Level on World Population Day 2026 for Excellence in Maternal and Child Healthcare

On the occasion of World Population Day 2026, ESDO received the award for the best non-governmental development organization at the upazila level.
In recognition of its commendable contribution to adolescent reproductive health, maternal and child health care activities on the occasion of World Population Day 2026, the Upazila Family Planning Department has awarded Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) as the best non-governmental development organization (CBD and Clinic) at the upazila level.
On this occasion, the crest and certificate of honor were presented to the representatives of ESDO. This recognition is an important recognition of ESDO’s long-standing continuous contribution, public-private initiatives and public-private partnerships in the development of adolescent-friendly healthcare, family planning, safe motherhood and maternal and child health.
This achievement is the result of the combined efforts of ESDO’s development partner Plan International Bangladesh, dedicated officers and employees, volunteers, community representatives, government partners and beneficiaries.
